3. About funding, cooperation and information centers
– Funding and cooperation
- Arts Council of Ireland: the Irish government agency for developing the arts. We work in partnership with artists, arts organisations, public policy makers and others to build a central place for the arts in Irish life. It is the IFACCA National Member. It has a specific international priority.
– Information
- Culture Ireland: creates and supports opportunities for Irish artists and companies to present and promote their work at strategic international festivals, venues, showcases and markets. Culture Ireland operates a quarterly funding scheme [February, May, August and November] to support the international presentation of work by Irish artists and companies. Culture Ireland is a EUNIC member.
- CREATE: the national development agency for collaborative arts. Their work initiates cross-sectoral national and international partnerships which support artists and communities to co-create work of depth, ambition and excellence. CREATE in a EUNIC member.

- Arts & Disability Ireland (ADI): the national development and resource organisation for arts and disability.
- AOIFE Association of Irish Festival Events: The Association is the island’s resource network for over 400 plus Festivals and cultural events in Ireland – North and South. It partners the Government and Assembly Executive in delivering a co – ordinated agenda of Festivals and Event developmet for community, arts, cultural and tourism sectors. It markets, supports and advocates for the sector by running development and training programmes and publishing and delivering a raft of publication and emarketing initiatives.

– Visual arts
- Visual Artists Ireland: the Representative body for professional visual artists in Ireland. VAI research has identified: Isolation; a Need for Support; and a Need for Information as the three primary areas of concern for visual artists.
- IVARO – Irish Visual Artists Rights Organisation: a not-for-profit organisation representing over 1,500 Irish visual creators and over 40,000 international creators. IVARO is passionate about ensuring visual creators’ rights are respected and appropriately rewarded. IVARO manages its members’ rights through three core services: Artists Resale Right, Copyright licensing, and Return. Member of EVArtists
– Performing arts
- Dance Ireland: the national development organisation for dance in Ireland, providing training, professional development and enabling the success of dance artists.
- Irish Theatre Institute (ITI): a resource organisation that nurtures, promotes and drives the ambition of Irish theatre makers and Irish theatre, from its grassroots beginnings to its presentation on the world stage.
- Theatre Forum: the membership body for the professional performing arts in the Republic of Ireland. Membership is open to producing theatre companies and venues of every scale, as well as festivals, arts centres, TIE, YPT, dance and opera companies and individuals. Its mission is to support, represent and develop the environment in which the performing arts are made in Ireland, through advocacy, information exchange, organisational development and training. - Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network (ISACS): Ireland’s leading support and advocacy organisation for the development of street arts, circus and spectacle art forms.
- Assitej Ireland – TYAI: website of the Irish branch of Assitej
- Irish Actors Equity Group: the only trade union for stage, screen, radio, television and cabaret in Ireland, representing Actors, Dancers, Street Performers, Theatre Directors, Stage and Set Designers.
– Music
- Ireland’s National Association of Songwriters, Composers and Publishers (IMRO): collects royalties for the use of copyrighted music.
- The Association of Irish Composers: represents contemporary music composers in Ireland and Northern Ireland. It seeks to enhance the professional status of its members on local, national and international levels through four strands of activity: opportunity, discussion, promotion and advocacy/support.
- Comhaltas: Largest group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music.
- First Music Contact: he Arts Council-funded resource organisation for the popular music sector in Ireland with local, national and international impact. It is a member of EMEE.
- Music Network: Ireland’s national music touring and development organisation, and was founded by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon in 1986.
5. Regional organisations
- Organisation internationale of la Francophonie (OIF): The Francophonie is also an institution, dedicated since 1970 to promoting the French language and political, educational, economic and cultural cooperation among the 88 member countries of the OIF, among which support for Cultural Diversity. The Republic of Ireland has an observer member status.
