Christophe Slagmuylder to lead Theater der Welt 2020

Christophe Slagmuylder, general and artistic director of Kunstenfestivaldesarts, is selected as artistic director of Theater der Welt 2020.
The triennial Theater der Welt is an international theatre festival changing its location and artistic director with each edition. Christophe Slagmuylder will leave his position at Kunstenfestivaldesarts to lead next edition in Düsseldorf from 14 to 31 May 2020.
Christophe Slagmuylder has been leading Kunstenfestivaldesarts since 2007. Two more editions of the festival will be organised under his direction, including the next one, taking place from 4 to 26 May 2018.
More information on his succession has yet to be confirmed.
About Kunstenfestivaldesarts
The Kunstenfestivaldesarts is an international arts festival dedicated to contemporary creations: theatre, dance, performance, film, and visual arts. It takes place in May of every year and lasts for three weeks, with presentations in some 20 theatres and arts centres, as well as in public spaces throughout Brussels. Wallonie-Bruxelles Théâtre/Danse and Flanders Arts Institute/Kunstenpunt will be present to organise their visitors’ programme ‘From Brussels with Love’ for the fifth time in a row.
