Are you professionally active in the photography sector? Join us at the second edition of our Sectorday Photography.

During this second edition of the Sectorday Photography, we are bringing together photographers, curators, critics, teachers, gallery owners, policy makers and arts organisations to get to know each other, and to discuss questions, needs and key issues in the photography sector.

Topics that will be covered during the day include a.o. fair practices, information and advice on grants and income, entrepreneurship and careers, internationalisation and promotion, combining artistic work and commercial assignments.

We invite you to bring your portfolio and publications, as there will also be space to share your work with colleagues.

All conversation tables will cover the same topics, namely professionalisation, career development, entrepreneurship, combining artistic work and commercial assignments, with an emphasis on certain sub-topics depending on the moderator and the invited speakers.

Platform photography

With this second Sectorday Photography, we want to pursue the idea of an open community for all those who are professionally involved with photography in our country. With this platform we wish to bring people together and to share knowledge and expertise. If you wish to share ideas or to get involved in future developments of the platform, send an email to platformfotografie@gmail.com.

Practical

  • Date: Friday, December 1, 2023, from 9.30 to 19.00.
  • Location: European House of Authors, Rue du Prince Royal 85-87, 1050 Brussels.
    Accessible by metro 2 and 6 from Brussels-Midi and tram 92 and 93 from Brussels-Central.
  • Language: Plenary sessions will be in English, meetings and discussion tables in both Dutch and English.

Participation is free. The event is fully booked, but you can still register for the waiting list by filling in this form. We will let you know on Monday 27 November if we have a place for you.
