Save the date – sector day contemporary classical music

Together with MATRIX, Flanders Arts Institute is organising a sector day for the contemporary classical music sector in Flanders. During Night Air in Kortrijk, we invite you to a sector day on the theme of ‘artist-run presentation practices’.
Contemporary music has a permanent place in the programming of our concert halls and festivals. There are also some established festivals of our own for contemporary music. On a parallel track, contemporary music is also claiming space through ‘artist-run’ initiatives: composers and musicians are organising their own concerts, networks are launching their concert series and venues are springing up to welcome contemporary music.
During this sector meeting, we will use inspiring initiatives to see what we as a sector can learn from each other, how we can support each other and where outside support can be found.
