Save the date – Echo 2025: Classical music sector day
How do we make, play and experience classical music today? And what will the future bring? That is what Klarafestival, Flanders Arts Institute, Bozar, DE SINGEL, Concertgebouw Brugge and De Bijloke would like to reflect on together with leading voices from the music sector. Therefore, we cordially invite you to Bozar on Wednesday 26 March 2025 for the fourth edition of Echo, the sector moment for classical music.
Echo 2025 – Coming of Age
Century-old scores and never-before-heard sounds. Tradition and innovation. Pageant prodigies and éminences grises. In classical music, old and new meet. Age is a central axis around which we think, play, create and experience. High time to reflect with young, old and mid on what age means for our sector. How do we deal with musical legacies? What do we expect from the up-and-coming generation of musicians? How can we build sustainable careers in a caring way, even in old age? And how do we enthuse young audiences about classical music?
Keynotes and inspiration sessions
During Echo 2025, we put these questions to keynote speakers Anne La Berge and Diamanda La Berge Dramm. Both musicians operate on the intersection between contemporary and classical music, and as mother and daughter they have their own view on the intersections and fault lines between generations. Complementing their keynotes, experts will engage in further discussions with attendees during six inspiration sessions.
