(E)Quality in Arts: build a multivocal policy with your organisation
Committing to diversity and inclusion has ceased to be a ‘nice-to-have’, and is an absolute necessity for organisations that want to remain socially relevant. Inclusion is about removing barriers that are structural, systemic and often unconscious.
Invisible forms of discrimination based on skin colour and other exclusion mechanisms often hold back quality multivocality. Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten (‘Social Fund Performing Arts’) supports organisations to make the transition to true diversity and inclusion.
(E)Quality in Arts is a guidance programme where you, as an organisation, learn to work on a multivocal policy by means of workshops, learning networks, an organisation scan and individual trajectory guidance. Coaching is provided in collaboration with freelance experts.
In this first module, 4 interactive workshops will give you the basic knowledge you need to embark on an inclusion journey. We talk about power, privilege, discrimination, safe(r) spaces and inclusive working, among other things. This basic knowledge is built on in the further modules. We recommend you take several workshops, they form a logical pathway. However, you can also sign up separately for one of the workshops.
Workshops
26 april – racism and discrimination
23 mei – safe(r) spaces
14 juni – power and privilege
27 juni – inclusion in the workplace
Learning network
After attending one or more workshops from the first module, you can register (from your organisation) for the second module. This module consists of a learning network where we work around skills and exchange is central. Within the safe(r) space of a closed collegial group, we reflect on the (own) organisational structure and culture. We also sound out the support base for multi-voicedness, under the guidance of a permanent facilitator and an expert. By registering for the second module, you commit to participating in five sessions. Check the dates for 2024 (in Dutch).
Tailor-made organisational scan & coaching
The third module consists of the preparation of an organisational scan based on interviews and group sessions. The organisation is then also guided in drawing up an action plan, with a focus on removing barriers.
The fourth and final module is the customised guidance and coaching needed to implement the action plan. The timing of the 3rd and 4th modules is always in consultation with the organisation.
