Danielle Leenaerts
Born in 1974 in Brussels, Danielle Leenaerts is Doctor of Art History, deputy director of ESA Saint-Luc, lecturer in History and Theory of Photography at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Free University of Brussels, independent curator and member of the artistic direction committee of Contretype (Brussels), author of Petite histoire du magazine Vu (1928-1940). Entre photographie d’art et photographie d’information (P.I.E. Peter Lang, 2010) and L’image de la ville. Bruxelles et ses photographes des années 1850 à nos jours (CFC Éditions, 2009) and numerous articles on photography and contemporary creation, notably on the question of urban representation, narrativity and the materiality of the photographic image.
