Residency
TAMAT

For forty years, TAMAT has supported artists from all over the world through its Research grant and welcomed them into its studios. This program encourages the breaking down of barriers between disciplines and encourages residents to draw on the resources made available to them at the museum.

The experimental artistic residency Research

Research is part of the continuity of the research grant program, directly linked to TAMAT’s missions around textile arts: conservation, study, promotion and support for contemporary creation.

Research is a 1-year residency program for a selection of 4 artists-authors and/or creators, professional or in the process of professionalization. It is intended to support a research and experimentation project related to textile arts and/or textile heritage preserved by TAMAT.

Focused on experimentation as a creative process, the program encourages initiation, research and innovation. It supports the breaking down of barriers between artistic practices and disciplines, while encouraging discovery and appropriation of TAMAT resources.

On January 18, 2024, four artists took over the studios, namely Lauriane Belin, Joao Freitas, Marius Martinot and Maria José Murillo.
