Villa Pérochon: Encounters of Young International Photography Residency and Exhibition (France)
Villa Pérochon, Centre for Contemporary Photographic Art (managed by the association Pour l’Instant) is calling for applications from emerging international photographers for the Encounters of Young International Photography residency, 10–28 April, in Niort, in the Nou- velle-Aquitaine region of France.
Emerging international photographers with the most diverse approaches are selected on the basis of their application contents to participate in the creative residency and are accompanied throughout their stay by a major figure in contemporary photography, this year’s guest of honour being Kourtney Roy.
Villa Pérochon, Centre for Contemporary Photographic Art, is a technical centre, including a black and white darkroom and digital workshop, both equipped with professional equipment. With all this backing, the artists are free to create and experiment, further stimulated through meetings, sharing of experiences and exposure to the highly diverse approaches of other participants.
Support from the organisation includes the following:
- Travel to and from Niort
- The presence and support of Kourtney Roy throughout the stay
- Technical support for the darkroom and digital laboratories
- The supply of materials required for creation
- Accommodation, breakfasts and dinners
- The setting up of two exhibitions (opening and closing), including transport costs of the works for the opening exhibition
- A grant of 500 EUR for the time of the residency
- A lump sum of 500 EUR for the exhibition rights of the two exhibitions
- Organisation of a press trip (national and international press) to meet the artists
