Queer Arts Festival: development programme, residency and presentation festival
Are you a creator* between 18 and 26 with a good idea for (a try-out of) a project? Are you looking for a good place to execute that idea? And are you free in August? Sign up for A Night Called Quest – a development, residency and presentation festival by the Antwerp Queer Arts Festival and De Studio.
* theatre, performance, installation, spoken word, photography, dance, video, music, painting… all disciplines are welcome.
Are you a budding queer creator between 18 and 26 with a good idea? Are you walking around with a project idea that brings out a little-heard story or explores a new/surprising way of working? Do you have your own style or a clear research question to work towards?
What can you expect from us?
- Three weeks of time and space to develop a plan, in collaboration with queer coaches and artists.
- A kick-off day with all participating artists
- A masterclass on a relevant theme
- An individual in-depth session with an artist or coach
- A tailor-made feedback session with the other artists
- A production budget of €500 that you may spend as you see fit
- A minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 performances/exhibitions during the festival weekend
What do we ask from you?
- A broad commitment throughout the project and availability during the month of August. You mostly plan your working hours yourself, but we expect you to be in Antwerp for a number of days (see the schedule below).
