Professional dancers for Emily Mast Performance at M Leuven
Every year, Playground offers a platform for artists unbound by a single discipline and working at the intersection between the stage and contemporary art. Both M Leuven and STUK present live performances and installations, often new productions or Belgian premieres. Playground is now looking to cast six professional dancers for Emily Mast’s performance at M.
Mast’s 60 minute piece is called IFIF and will premiere on Thursday, November 16th. IFIF is a group ritual in the form of a game that employs chance, dance and trance. It is one of many exercises that was born out of a methodology Mast began developing during the pandemic. Through hypnosis, tantra, dom/sub dynamics, emotional attunement, physical movement, free writing and theatrical techniques she invents consent and boundary frameworks that engage the subconscious and mine it as a tool for creation and transformation.
