Open Call Wave Makers
Wave Makers is a youth exchange (funded by Erasmus+) for 20 young people from Denmark and Belgium, addressing ocean health through arts and activism. It is a 10-day exchange in Denmark in the summer of 2025.
What can you expect?
- You will engage in arts-based and ocean education workshops, e.g. learning about mythical ocean creatures and creating your own new myth for the sea, doing an action to help the biodiversity of the Limfjord, walks along the shore while learning about the fjord, discovering your own advocacy message to share with the world in a creative way. The workshops are hosted by interactive theatre performer Marieke Breyne, graphic storyteller Bob Lundgreen, oceanographer Dominika Wojcieszek, and arts educator/researcher Elvira Crois (+ some special guests).
- Bond with young people from another country who value connection with the living world and ocean life

What do we expect from you?
- Have an official address in Belgium or Denmark
- Aged min. 18 and max. 29 years old at the time of the exchange
- Arrive and participate in the activities from the evening of August 24th to the morning of September 4th
- Basic ability to understand and express yourself in English
- Experience in arts or knowledge about the sea is not required but an interest in both is
