Open call for programmers performing arts from Flanders visiting the dFERIA Festival in San Sebastian

Call
Flanders Arts Institute

The dFERIA festival takes place in San Sebastian, Spain. dFERIA is the most important Theatre and Dance Fair in the Basque Country. For this edition the festival would like to invite a group of Flemish programmers to follow a 3-day professional programme to strengthen the exchange between the Flanders and Basque performing arts scene. During these days, the fair proposes a focused exchange with the invited (basque)artists, international professionals and local arts organisations. This invitation follows a bilateral exchange between the Basque countries and Flanders and hopes to further support and maintain these contacts.

For this invitation the city council will support the invited programmers with accreditations, accommodation in San Sebastian and per diems. The travel from and to Donostia-San Sebastian is not included and should be funded by the invitees. In case there are any questions or difficulties to organise or fund the trip, please do not hesitate to contact our colleague Julia at julia.reist@kunsten.be.

Conditions to apply:

Interested parties:

  • must be connected to an institution, festival or organisation actively involved in the Flanders / Brussels performing arts or an independent professional working for min. 3 years within the Flemish / Brussels arts field.
  • have an interest to get to know the Basque performing art sector and willing to invest in possible future collaborations.*
  • are available for at least two full days between March 12th to 15th 2023. (Accommodation is provided for the full length of the festival if the invitees would like to stay)
  • Have the possibility to fund their travel to and from San Sebastian (preferably by train if time and accessibility needs allow this). Flanders Arts Institute can give advice on possible 3rd party funding for travel.

How to apply?

Apply before Monday 27th of February 2023 by sending a short motivation letter (max 1A4) and a current CV to julia.reist@kunsten.be
