Open Call Nightwatch 2024: museum take-over in the FOMU for and by young talent!
Nightwatch is a coaching program for Young Entrepreneurs & Young artists that combines workshops, talent exhibitions and a museum takeover, all driven by and for young talent.
This program offers a distinctive opportunity for 10-13 young artists aged 16 to 27. Through a series of diverse workshops, participants not only refine their skills but also collaborate towards creating a unique museum take-over of FOMU – Fotomuseum Antwerp.
What?
Nightwatch wants to give a platform to young upcoming artists by organizing a museum take over and group exhibition at FOMU – Fotomuseum Antwerpen. But not only that…
Through a series of diverse workshops, participants not only refine their professional skills but also learn to collaborate in a group setting. The focus of this year will be on self-improvement, unique connections and community building. If selected, you’ll be part of 2 community events and 5 NW-days (workshops & field trips), which are mandatory for participation in the museum take over on May 17th 2024.
Theme: Repotting Roots
We would like to bring together a collective of authentic Young Artists who are able to tell their story within this year’s theme ‘REPOTTING ROOTS‘. This theme symbolizes the transformative journey of ‘repotting’ oneself into new soil to personally grow and better understand one’s connection to the world. In this ongoing journey, our roots represent our ties to the world and how we are intertwined with it in various ways as well as where we came from.

(As an artist, it’s up to you to interpret and convey your narrative within this theme. It’s a metaphorical garden of the self, where each experience and responsibility become a vital element in the soil of personal and professional growth. If selected, you’ll be part of workshops and activities during the Nightwatch days, which are mandatory for participation in the exhibition.)
