Let your nails speak in DING Vitrine!
Design Museum Gent is looking for young Ghent artists or collectives who have a great idea for nail or hand decorations! Would you like to develop your idea under the guidance of Brussels nail artist Chloé Momi and the Ghent queer collective Bebe Books and present it this autumn in the pop-up nail salon SAY MY NAILS in DING Vitrine (Drabstraat 2, Ghent) of Design Museum Gent?
SAY MY NAILS is the experimental pop-up nail salon in DING Vitrine (Design Museum Gent) where nails and hands form the canvas for self-expression and dialogue. To this end, Design Museum Gent is looking for innovative ideas that are experimental, quirky and connecting. Think of the use of alternative materials, edgy nail designs or interactive hand treatments. A background in nail art is not required. Join in and let your nails tell the story!
How to participate?
Please provide the following info to isaline.raes@stad.gent by June 5, 2024 at the latest:
- Contact details (name, address, e-mail address, phone number)
- Brief presentation of your idea (max. 2 A4 pages)
- Brief presentation of yourself (max. 1 A4 page / possibly with addition of portfolio and CV)
The jury will select four projects. They will announce their selection on July 1, 2024.
Offer
- A production budget of €1,000 per project.
- Content and production support for the development of your project by a team of young experts.
- DING Vitrine as a place to share your proposal with an audience for one week.
SAY MY NAILS is a project within the framework of Ghent European Youth Capital 2024.
