Contribute to the program of the performing arts sector days

This year, the annual sector day of Flanders Arts Institute and Het TheaterFestival will be expanded to a two-day gathering. Which topics should be discussed? What is too often overlooked within our field? Let us know! Together and based on your proposals, ideas and suggestions, we will create the programme.
For whom? All (sub-)professions of the sector: artists, technicians, communication workers, production, artistic, business, HR, administrative, logistics,…
How does it work?
All proposals – starting or fully developed, with or without budget – are welcome. Via the registration form you can pitch your idea of max half an A4 and indicate what you need for this (productionally, substantively, practically…) or what is still missing. You can submit in English or Dutch, in text, video or audio (send to julia.reist@kunsten.be / max. 2 minutes)
Who can submit a proposal?
Subsidised or unsubsidised individual artists, collectives, art professionals (such as dramaturgs, art workers, curators,…) and arts organisations from performing arts with a clear link to the arts field of Flanders and Brussels. In short, anyone working within this discipline, regardless of experience, age, nationality,…

Submit your proposal until 26nd of March, 20h via this form.
Selection will take place on 29th of March
You will receive a reply between 29th of March and 2nd of April 2024.
By May 10th we expect a communication text, so that your project can join the launch of Het TheaterFestival.
The sector days will take place on September 9 and 10.
The proposals will be selected by a jury consisting of Nora Mahammed from Het TheaterFestival, Julia Reist from Flanders Arts Institute, the Social Fonds Podiumkunsten, and two external members. The selection will be a combination of projects with and without funding, to make sure that there is a good balance between existing and new initiatives.
Do we have questions about your idea or does it connect to another proposal? Then we will definitely contact you to talk about the form, possible synergies and combinations with other proposals.
What we offer
- Content, practical and production support for the development and preparation of your proposal.
- Can you or the people involved in your proposal not be remunerated for your presence within a contractual employment? Kunstenpunt and Het TheaterFestival will provide fair pay.
