Expo Hosting: Open call to artists based in Brussels and its periphery
Exhibition hosting
Following the refurbishment of its spaces, Centrale is reopening its doors with the exhibition hosting (10.10.2024 > 23.02.2025). hosting welcomes and celebrates the artistic diversity of the current Brussels scene, opening up to the city, its artists and its audiences.
Inspired by the Summer exhibition, the flagship exhibition held every year at the Royal Academy in London, hosting is based on a call for entries from artists of all generations and disciplines in the visual arts who have made Brussels their home. The exhibition takes the form of a huge cabinet of curiosities occupying every space at Centrale.
The artists Manon de Boer, Pélagie Gbaguidi, Juan Pablo Plazas and Richard Venlet have been invited to sponsor and participate in the exhibition, and make up the artistic committee alongside Tania Nasielski, artistic director of Centrale. The committee is responsible for selecting and hanging the works.
For whom?
The call for entries is open to artists living or working in the 19 communes of Brussels and the 25 communes on its outskirts. In this way, the contours of an enlarged city are taking shape, with a periphery that could be called the 20th commune of Brussels.
