“Art Nouveau as a New EUtopia”: Open call for European artist residencies
Through the European project Art Nouveau as a New EUtopia, the Réseau Art Nouveau Network (RANN) and its partners want to invite contemporary artists from all disciplines (visual artists, writers, musicians, choreographers, …) to reinterpret Art Nouveau works and their link with nature through the prism of the past and the present.
Art Nouveau is a major European architectural movement of the 20th century, that offers a stimulating and fruitful perspective for rethinking the links between art, heritage and citizens. Art Nouveau as a New EUtopia aims to encourage artists to propose original creations that go into dialogue with this perspective.
For this purpose, six residencies will be organised between 2024 and 2025 in RANN’s five European partner cities: Aveiro in Portugal, Brussels (two locations) and Mons in Belgium, Nancy in France and Oradea in Romania. The residencies will take place from September 2024 to mid-2025.
