Forecast

Forecast offers artists and creative thinkers from anywhere in the world the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition. For each edition, Forecast selects six mentors of various disciplines who offer interested participants their expertise in specifying and realising their pioneering project ideas.

The following mentors are participating in the sixth edition of Forecast: architect Tatiana Bilbao; data democracy expert Francesca Bria; experimental singer and composer Sofia Jernberg; cartoonist Ulli Lust; choreographer Mathilde Monnier; and artist Emeka Ogboh.

Following the open call, the mentors will select three concepts each. The 18 selected applicants – three for each mentor – are invited to Berlin to discuss their ideas and present them at the Forecast Forum taking place in July 2021 in Berlin. At the end of the Forecast Forum, each of the six mentors selects one concept to accompany to its realisation over the following nine months. The outcomes of these collaborations will then be presented at the Forecast Festival, taking place at radialsystem, Berlin in April 2022.

Forecast will grant accommodation and travel costs, and provide infrastructure and space for your presentation at the Forecast Forum. However, if you apply as a duo or collective, Forecast can cover travel and accommodation for only one member. Participation in the Forecast Forum is also recognised with a combined artist fee / production budget of 2000 euro. Projects presented at Forecast Festival in April 2021 receive an artist fee of 6000 euro and a production budget of up to 8000 euro.
